Class Basics

for 2026-2027 School Year

An after school program for 3K-5th grade

Days:  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. 

You can do one, two, three, four or all five days.

NEW THIS YEAR! Woodworking add-on. Every other Tuesday Yoav Liberman teaches special woodworking sessions in Room 304.

Time:  2:45pm-5pm. Pickup no later than 5:15pm.

*3K and PreK students pickup is no later than 4:30pm until age 5.

Co-Chair of the Third Street School Garden

Location: 3rd Street Courtyard. 

We will also tend the 4th Street Courtyard and the 10 tree pits on school property.

Class will take place outdoors as much as possible.

Indoor Location: Room 304

Costs: 

Materials and registration fee: $35 ($75 for woodworking).

Dropins:  $65/class. Please notify Maggie at 646-712-3020, and pay no later than noon the day of.

Half Days for students not enrolled on Fridays:  $145/class until 5pm and pay by Tuesday.

Late Pickup:  $25 late pickup fee after 5:15pm.

Enroll either monthly, seasonally or annually. 10% discount off annual enrollment.

Pricing for Families with Combined Income of 90K or more

Session Dates:

Fall Session (Earth)--September 14th, 2026-December 13, 2026

Winter Session (Air) --January 4th, 2027-April 2, 2027

Spring Session (Water)--April 5, 2027, June 17, 2027

Snacks:
Families provide their own snacks.

Kids will be encouraged to taste washed produce harvested in garden.

Routine

 • Meet at pickup. (2:45pm)

• Walk over to the courtyard together plus bathroom break on the way. (2:45-3pm)

• Sit on bleachers for snack time and introduce discussion topic for the week. (3-3:30pm)

•  Free play at different garden activity stations with guided activities as well (3:30-4:30pm)

• Introduce handwork project and begin work. (4:30-5pm)

• Parents pickup children (5-5:15pm)

• Children may continue to work on their handwork or have free play in the garden until parents pickup.

*For Woodworking Tuesdays, children who opt-in will be divided into 1-2 grades and 3-4-5 grades.

Grades 1-2 will be led to Room 304 after snack around 3:10 to begin their work, ending around 3:50.

Children will be led downstairs by a Honeysuckle Helper back to the garden.

Grades 3-4-5 will be led up at 4pm until 4:40.

Children who attend on Tuesdays who do not opt-in, will do regular Honeysuckle.
